Academic and socioemotional readiness are critical determinants of student success in college and the workforce. But the pandemic severely disrupted students’ development of these essential skills, creating a looming crisis with significant consequences for students, the workforce, and our communities.
To confront the readiness challenge, K-12 schools and, higher education institutions need to think and act differently and collaborate in innovative ways.
This research paper, based on insights from work with 2,800 institutions and interviews with 150+ experts, provides a thorough assessment of the cross-sector challenge as well as recommendations for the student readiness crisis to build a stronger future, together.
